You do not need to be a professional writer to participate. Choose the submission option that best fits your idea below.

A space for students and young people to share their writing, opinions, artwork, reviews, and community experiences.

General Submission Guidelines
Please keep the following in mind:
Submissions must be your original work.
Submitting material does not guarantee publication.
North Main may edit accepted work for grammar, clarity, length, formatting, and publication style.
Contributors are responsible for checking the accuracy of names, dates, quotations, and factual claims.
Submissions should generally relate to Scranton, Lackawanna County, Northeastern Pennsylvania, or an issue that has clear relevance to local readers.
Please disclose any personal, political, professional, or financial connection to the subject.
Previously published work must be identified when submitted.
North Main will not knowingly publish plagiarism, threats, personal attacks, discriminatory material, or intentionally false information.
North Main reviews submissions as time permits. Contributors may be contacted about publication, clarification, revisions, or consideration for a future issue.
Payment and Contributor Opportunities
Payment and Contributor Opportunities
General community submissions are currently unpaid unless payment, a prize, or a commissioned assignment is offered in advance.
North Main may occasionally offer writing contests, paid assignments, sponsored opportunities, or recurring contributor positions. Any payment or prize information will be clearly stated before participation.
