A space for young writers and artists to share their voices with the community
North Main is opening a dedicated page for student creativity. Local students are invited to submit original writing or artwork for a chance to be featured in an upcoming issue. This space is meant to encourage young writers, artists, and creative thinkers to share their work with the community in a real publication setting.
What Students Can Submit
We welcome original student work such as:
~ Poems ~ Short stories ~ Personal essays ~ Reflections ~ Artwork
Submissions should be appropriate for a community publication and created by the student submitting the work.
Who Can Submit?
This opportunity is open to local students and youth writers/artists.
Students under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian before their work can be considered for publication.
How It Works
North Main may select 2–3 student pieces to feature in an upcoming issue.
Selected work may appear in the printed newsletter, on the North Main website, or both.
Not every submission is guaranteed publication, but every submission will be reviewed with care.
Submission Guidelines
Please make sure submissions are:
Original work by the student
Appropriate for a general community audience
Submitted with parent/guardian permission if the student is under 18
Clearly titled, if applicable
Writing may be lightly edited for spelling, grammar, length, or formatting, while keeping the student’s voice intact.
